Kostis Georgiou, a Greek contemporary sculptor and painter, was born in Thessaloniki, Greece, in 1956. He currently resides in Athens. Georgiou studied painting and sculpture at the University of Fine Arts in Athens from 1982 to 1986, under professors Mytaras, Panouryias, and Kokkinides. He continued his education at the Royal College of Fine Arts in London under Peter de Francia from 1985 to 1986.Georgiou’s artistic career began with a solo exhibition in Thessaloniki in 1974. Since then, his work has been showcased in numerous solo and group exhibitions worldwide, earning him several international awards. His most recent works were exhibited in a five-museum tour in China. Georgiou’s paintings and monumental sculptures can be found in public squares, sculpture gardens, and various foundations and organizations globally.
