Biography

Chryssa Verghi received her studies in painting from the Academy of Fine Arts, where she studied with Dimitris Mytaras, Lefteris Kanakakis and Nikos Kessanlis. She continued her studies in interior decoration at the School of Fine Arts of California State University, Long Beach from 1980 to 1984. With a scholarship from I.KY., she continued postgraduate studies at the School of Fine Arts in Paris under the guidance of Pierre Caron. During her career she has organized three solo exhibitions, "Zoumboulaki" in 1994 and 1997, as well as "Miranda" in Hydra in 1994. In her recent artistic works she focuses on capturing elements of the natural environment, using direct and realistic approach, while also evoking a deep sense of nostalgia for the world that is being lost.
