Biography

Aris Petridis was born in 1979 in Athens. He has been involved in sports since childhood and later as a professional for the rest of his career. An active member of the national 100m athletics team for over 15 years, he took part in many events with several distinctions, with top moments: 5 Panhellenic gold medals, 5 Balkan gold medals, 4th place in the Mediterranean championship, 7th place in the world championship, etc. He obtained his degree from the National Kapodistrian University of Athens, in the Department of Physical Education and Sports, and after retiring from his sports career, he started sculpting. An art form he visited from time to time as a child but never had the time to really commit to. In the few years that he has been actively involved in sculpture, he has taken part in group exhibitions inside and outside Greece * ATHENS ART FESTIVAL 2021 *Memorial 2022 *Colors and lights (Norway) *Art Awards 2023 He won the 1st prize in sculpture for the artwork « Pieta" at the 2023 Art Awards held at the War Museum of Athens.
