Biography

He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts (1959 – 1963), where he focused on painting under the guidance of Yiannis Moralis, as well as on mural painting. Even during his studies he was actively involved in scenography. In 1965 - 1966 he had the opportunity to travel and extensively study ancient, Byzantine and folk art with a scholarship from the I.KY. He also taught free drawing at the Center for Technological Applications in 1966. Thanks to a scholarship from the French government, he continued his studies at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris (1967 – 1968). He eventually settled in Paris and continued his studies at the Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes and the Louvre School until 1974. Over the years, he had the privilege of exhibiting his works in numerous prestigious art galleries and museums both in Greece and abroad . Additionally, retrospective exhibitions of his work have been thoughtfully organized, such as those held at the Municipal Art Gallery of Rhodes in 1984 and at the Vafopouleio Spiritual Center of Thessaloniki in 1990, together with the Municipal Art Gallery of Patras in 1994. the honor of participating in the Biennale of Sao Paulo in 1979 and his outstanding artistic achievements were recognized with the prestigious Drouant-Cartier Prize in 1984.The subject matter of his work includes landscapes, interiors, still lifes and compositions with objects. His works are inspired by metaphysical painting, which has been influenced by the famous artists Giorgio de Chirico and Giorgio Morandi.
